From LaVida Harris
Black Professional Women Blog (BPWB) has been a vessel to encourage and to bring more awareness to our women of color and specifically to the professional woman.
In our community, there is not enough uplifting of one another. There has to be a change. The first step to change is to recognize there is a need. Then we must do something about it. My desire is to bring a stronger bond of sisterhood to a level of comfort to helping one another to achieve their dreams.
I have made steps toward that change by creating two segments. Business Tells where several entrepreneurs have shared their experience as a business owner. By sharing their journey with others gives a road map to guide others to achieving their dreams.
Artistic Women is where I feature women that have artistic gifts. These women have allowed me to put the spotlight on their heavenly gifts. This allows the world know that they exist and are ready to take it on.
Since the conception of BPWB, there have been some great people that share in this dream. I would like to take this opportunity to THANK those who support me.
First to God; who allows everything to happen. He is who allows me to be light that shines and not the shadow.
Mitchell Dupre Sr., Founder of BPW, for awakening the writer in me again and allowing me to be the visionary for the blog. Thank you for your vision that helps women to seize the opportunity of becoming their own boss.
Velma Rusell, for all your encouraging emails of words of encouragement and most of all your prayers.
Joanne “Blackpoet” Stephen, for exemplifying true sisterhood, love & support…encouraging me every step of the way.
To all the ladies, thank you for allowing me to share your accomplishments to the world. BPWB is here to support you in your dreams.
Last, but not least, you the readers, for without you BPWB would not have been able to cultivate and be exposed to over 400 individuals.
BPWB, is seeking new horizons and with your support it would not be able to. Again, I THANK one and all for the part that you play in “Making Dreams Come True”.
